About the Role
Seaforce provide Fleet and Marine Engineering support to Australian Border Force's (ABF) Marine Unit and are looking for experienced marine/maritime engineers or project managers to add to our expanding team. These existing roles will give you the opportunity be a Subject Matter Expert for ABF's fleet of patrol boats, ships and small vessels.
As a specialist Ship Manager, you will be at the core of Seaforce’s capability. Within thesse varied roles you will:
:- Provide shipyard support to dockings, repairs and refits representing the Commonwealth of Australia’s interests
:- Support the maintenance planning and direct the In Service Support (ISS) Maintenance Manager in delivery of maintenance management services
:- Collaborate as the primary point of contact with office, shipboard staff to provide and the ISS contractor to provide vessel support
:- Ensure certification assurance and auditing support in accordance with the ISM Code, Class, statutory and national regulatory body requirements
:- Responsible for assigned vessel performance metrics including budget, operating costs, reliability, and planning
:- Supervise all technical management activities for assigned vessels
Requirements
Attention to detail, sound communication skills with the ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders, both Commonwealth and commercial
Engineering degree or equivalent maritime/defence experience working in a relevant field
Well-developed communication skills for managing stakeholders and conveying technical risk issues
Understanding of Defence/government user community and associated operational environment & experience in commercial marine platform systems highly desirable
Ability to obtain and hold current BASELINE (minium) AGSVA is Essential
